Closed Joint Stock Company Central Depository was founded on 17 December 1997. Its founders included 15 professional securities market participants: brokerage companies and investment funds, the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange, commercial banks, and the UYUM Association of Independent Registrars and Depositories.

It holds License No. 0146 for depository operations on the securities market, issued on 15 May 2014 by the Public Regulation and Supervision Service of the Financial Market under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.
