Legal Framework

Foundation date         18 September 1997

  1. Civil Law of the Azerbaijan Republic dated 1 September, 2000;
  2. Order of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic “On national depository system”, dated 14 May, 1997;
  3. Standards of depository activities, approved by the State Committee for Securities under auspices of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic under number 109 on 15 July 2005.

  1. License No.1 on depository activities issued by the State Committee for Securities on 15 February, 2000;
  2. License No.2 on registration activities issued by the State Committee for Securities on 15 February, 2000;

Management

Azizov Fariz Nazim oglu
Chairman of the Executive Board 

Azizov Fariz Nazim oglu was born on August 15, 1978 in Baku. In 1999 he graduated from Azerbaijan State Economic University, faculty of accountancy and audit. He began his labor activity in Stock Insurance Company “Azal Siğorta”. In the following years he held the post of of Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of «Azal Siğorta». In 2007-2008 Mr. Azizov was studying in «Lancaster University Business School» in Great Britain and has received a master degree in business management. In February 2009 he was appointed to the position of 1-st Deputy Chairman of NDC. Since April 2011 he has been holding the post of Chairman of the Executive Board of National Depository Center. Married. Has one child.


Ownership Structure

100% state ownership: the State Committee for Securities under auspices of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic.


Main Functions

  1. Securities Safekeeping;
  2. Recording ownership rights on uncertificated securities;
  3. Maintenance of shareholder register;
  4. Registration of pledge;
  5. Registration of the change of securities ownership;
  6. Allocation of international securities identification numbers for securities issued in Azerbaijan.

International Cooperation

  1. From 2004 NDC is a co-founder of the Association of Eurasian Central Securities Depositories (CSDs) and its full member;
  2. In 2008 became a full member of the Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA);
  3. In 2008 became a full member of the International Securities Services Association (ISSA).
