Legal Framework Foundation date January 10, 1996 The state-owned enterprise "National Centralized Register" was established according to Government decision dated 10 January, 1996. In April, 1999 it was reorganized into the CJSC "Central Depository of Armenia" carrying out centralized depository and custodian operations. In August 2000, the RA Law on Securities Market Regulation came into effect. Under this law the exclusive right of the centralized custodian, securities registrar and clearing/settlement functions throughout the Republic of Armenia was delegated to the "Central Depository of Armenia" self-regulatory organization. Then, according to the RA new Law on Securities market adopted in October 2007, CDA SRO was reorganized into the OJSC "Central Depository of Armenia". In January 2008 100% of shares of the Central Depository of Armenia were sold to an on-exchange operator ОМХ АВ, that had finished the merger with NASDAQ, and now the world’s major on-exchange operator NASDAQ OMX Group Inc. is the sole owner of the Central Depository of Armenia and the Armenian Stock Exchange. On June 5, 2009, 100% of the shares of the Central Depository of Armenia were transferred to NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange. Management
